I went to Radford from the fall of 1957 to the spring of 1961. My dad was transferd to the San Diego area. I graduated from Helix High School in La Mesa, but I have always felt like a Radford Ram.
I graduated from San Diego State and started teaching in Vista, Ca. (about 45 miles north of San Diego).
I have been married to Sandy for 36 years. We have a daughter, Darci, who is 33. Sandy is the Regional Director for CitiBank in San Diego County.
I retired from teaching science in June of 2001 after 33 in the Vista School District. I also coached tack and cross country at Vista High School and Rancho Buena Vista High School for 22 years. My teams were ranked in the top 10 in the state 5 times. I coached girls to national and state championships, and in 1987 oneof my girls won the National High School Cross Country Championships. My daughter ran for the Vista High team.
In November of 2001, I was inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions, "High School Legends in Coaching". At the present time I am the cross country and track coach at Palomar College in San Marcos, Ca. years. We own a condo in Kona, HI and get to Hawaii twice a year.
